CIT successful at the "Coin of the Year Awards" at the WMF 2026

The Coin of the Year Award was presented for the first time at the World Money Fair in Berlin. There were two categories—silver and gold coins. The jury consisted of visitors, who were able to vote for their favorites in the foyer. The mere fact that we were nominated in both categories with one coin made us really proud.

But in the end, it turned out even better. We were able to take home two awards.

Second place in the gold coin category with “60 Years of Self-Government” and even first place in the silver coin category with “Reppublica Italiana.”

It was a very special moment for one member of the CIT team – our colleague Antonio Basuino. As the designer (with Italian roots), he was able to accept the award in person. His coin. His country. His award.
